Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery License: Valid RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Must-Have: Previous Charge Experience: 2 years Patient Ratio Experience: 3 Charting System Experience: Preferred Description: L&D RN position requires floating between units. On-call duties are not required. Some weekend shifts are mandatory. No block schedules are needed. Expected patient ratios are 1:2 for labor and 1:3 for antepartum. Candidates should have experience with high-risk labor and delivery, antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiple pregnancies, VBAC/TOLAC, active management of laboring patients, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies. Facility supports approximately 3200 deliveries per year. Unit provides interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. Daily census includes an average of 9 deliveries with 25 rooms and 27 beds. Special procedures may include insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, and assisting with high-risk deliveries. Candidates should be willing to float between nearby facilities during their assignment. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment.
