Work Environment Our Rehabilitation Center in Mc Lean, Virginia, is designed to be a welcoming and state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest technologies and therapeutic tools. Operating in a team-centric environment, you will work closely with physical therapy aides, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, providing a balanced work-life shift. Key Responsibilities Patient Assessment and Plan Development: Perform thorough evaluations of patients with orthopedic issues, developing tailored treatment plans to address their specific functional limitations and rehabilitation goals. Implementation of Treatment Protocols: Execute specialized treatment protocols based on evaluation findings while ensuring adherence to best practices and evolving healthcare regulations. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Regularly consult and collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to modify treatment plans as necessary based on patient progress. Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes that are clear and compliant with state regulations. Discharge Planning: Develop comprehensive discharge plans that include follow-up care and ensure patients understand their home exercise programs to foster independence. Training and Compliance: Partake in ongoing training and workshops to stay updated on clinical practices and maintain compliance with industry regulations. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families regarding treatment approaches, exercise recommendations, and rehabilitation goals to enhance their understanding and involvement in their recovery process. Team Meetings and Initiatives: Attend regular team meetings to discuss patient care strategies and participate in initiatives aimed at improving patient access and outcomes. Patient Population / Client Focus Our diverse clientele includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will engage with a broad range of patients, guiding them through recovery journeys that are tailored to their unique needs and challenges. Your role will be pivotal in identifying specific barriers to their rehabilitation and devising effective strategies to enhance their treatment experience. Qualifications Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution. Current valid state licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a physical therapy setting, particularly focused on orthopedic rehabilitation. Current CPR certification. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations. Preferred Experience Experience working with advanced rehabilitation technologies and methodologies. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems to streamline documentation efforts. Background in collaborating within interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
