Certified School Nurse

School NurseTo assist in providing a safe and healthful environment for all students and school personnel and to work with other agencies and the community in providing a complete and coordinated network of school health services.Oversees health services in all district schoolsProvides nursing care for staff and students in cases of injury or acute illness using the nursing process in accordance with professional standards, district policy and state and local mandatesIdentifies school health problems and recommends an appropriate course of actionProvides orientation and supervision of Health Aides, substitute Health Aides and RN'sConducts follow-up of accidents and illnesses and implements emergency care proceduresTakes prescribed action relative to delinquent physicals and immunizationsCompletes medical reviews for special education evaluationsParticipates in multidisciplinary team conferences and teacher support team meetingsSupervises the maintenance of all District health records and state reportingProvides inservice education to school personnelParticipates in the evaluation of school health programsAssists in vision and hearing screening and follow-upDevelop individual student care plans in collaboration with parents and physicianPrepares and submits reports to the Superintendent and State Board of EducationAuthorizes exclusion and re-admittance of students with infections and contagious diseasesPerforms such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assignedQualifications: Current PEL or Eligibility for Short-Term Approval and qualifications as set by the State Board of Education and the School CodeWorking Conditions: Full Time Position with BenefitsSalary: Per terms of the WEA Professional Agreement 2024-2029
