Position SummaryResponsible for learning and performing the set ups and running of Amada LaserResponsibilitiesInspect dimension and quality of all parts producedOccasionally generates programs for equipmentCommunicate with Programmers and Supervisor to prioritize daily workPerforms preventive maintenance of equipmentMaintains clear record and documentation of parts produced, manages raw stock inventory and disposes of scrapExamines specifications of the customer’s order using drawings, work orders, and/or set up sheets to determine the characteristics of the finished item, materials to be used, and machine setup requirementsFabricates work piece(s) as determined by work order specifications; retrieves correct materials, prepares workbench, and sets up appropriate tools to complete the jobExamines work piece visually, by touch, or using tape rule, calipers, or gauges to ensure product meets desired standardsEnters production quantities and labor hours into ERP systemMay perform various other fabrication duties including sawing, deburring, hardware installation, etc. as necessary to satisfy customer requirements and meet specificationsMaking sure the machine is set up properly, monitoring it during the process and documenting resultsPerform basic math functions such as addition and subtractionWorks under immediate supervision and is not typically required to exercise independent judgment, but at times will be necessarySafety and security: is able to observe safety and security procedures pertaining to plant maintenance/repair and use equipment properlyKeep work area organized to maintain a clean and safe work environmentPerforms all other duties as directed by ManagementCompetencies & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentA minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing operating laser equipmentExperience with setting up and operating laser or similar CNC equipment, experience operating Amada equipment a plusPrevious sheet metal handling or exposure preferredComputer literate with the ability to learn set-ups and programmingMechanically inclined with the ability to learn and seek out new skillsAbility to read, interpret, and explain all types of simple assembly and material prints and BOMsKnowledge of air tools, power tools, grinders, and hand toolsGeneral knowledge of shop machines and precision measuring toolsAbility to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the jobAbility to inspect equipment, structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defectsSelf-motivated, able to work independently and within tight deadlinesExtremely organized, acute attention to detail, and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughnessAbility to safely operate (or learn to operate) a forklift, pallet jack and/or overhead crane while moving machinery around the shopComfortable working in a non-temperature controlled environmentAbility to adapt to the work environment, deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events, while promoting a positive outlookRequired to wear PPE equipment at all times while on production floorAbility to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and remain on feet for long periods of timeExtremely dependable; consistently at work and on time (notifies if late or absent prior to being late of absent), follows instruction, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performanceExcellent team member; driven to contribute to the team effortGood communication skills, both written and verbalContinuously seeking and implementing methods to increase product quality, customer service and company efficiencyDisplays a positive attitudeAmbitious, outgoing, loyal and dynamicRespect for the Company’s resources; treat company equipment, funds, time and co-workers with respect #J-18808-Ljbffr
