A day in the life

You arrive on site in Spartanburg, SC and review the day’s plans. You study drawings and schematics, map out equipment placement to meet code, and line up materials. As installations progress, you bend conduit, pull feeders, set switchgear, and verify each connection. Between tasks, you run continuity and voltage tests, troubleshoot low-voltage controls, and keep the work area spotless before handing the project back to the customer.

Compensation & schedule

• Pay: $28.00–$30.00 per hour
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, First Shift, with overtime as needed

What you’ll tackle

• Interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and code to plan equipment layouts and installations.
• Install, inspect, replace, and repair wiring, receptacles, switch/junction boxes, conduits, feeders, and related components.
• Test equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
• Install, service, repair, and test switchgear, transformers, and switchboard meters.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical and low-voltage control systems and associated devices.
• Champion safety by following company policies and OSHA requirements, and report any policy or procedure violations to your supervisor.
• Care for and manage company-issued tools.
• Inspect completed work and leave areas clean and orderly.
• Collaborate with building principals and supervisors to complete projects.

What you bring

• 3–5 years’ experience in an industrial environment as a Journeyman Electrician handling installation and maintenance.
• Proficiency in conduit bending.
• Hands-on expertise troubleshooting electrical equipment/systems, working on power distribution, and interpreting blueprints/specifications.
• Ability to create accurate material lists.
• Comfort working at heights.
• Ability to perform in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.
