The Maintenance Technician I reports to a Maintenance Supervisor for either Meat or Spread production and is responsible for preventative and predictive maintenance of production equipment and rooms and assists with the diagnostics and repair of production equipment. While the Maintenance Technician I will primarily function as a technician within one of the two production areas-Meat or Spread-this role will require the ability to move between both production areas to assist the broader Maintenance team to ensure minimal down time for production.

General Responsibilities

• Preventative and predictive maintenance of production equipment for both Meat and Spread Operations. This includes equipment used to grind and patty formation, as well as liquid production mixers and tanks and vertical form filli seal equipment.
• Diagnosis and repair of malfunctioning production equipment within Meat and Spread production areas, which when more complicated is performed with mentoring or at least general oversight.
• Assist Supervisor in planning and maintaining Break Down and Preventive Maintenance (PM) work orders.
• Creating work orders for related repairs needed for equipment
• Communicate and/or assist in the ordering of maintenance tools and parts.

Work Schedule + Benefits

• Full-time position, Hourly (non-exempt)
• Hours: 4PM-12:30AM Friday- Tuesday.
• Some overtime as needed
• Days scheduled to work can change as needed, to accommodate projects

• Pay Range is $32.25-$36.25 per hour
• The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors.

Job Requirements:

• At least 1 year of prior related production and equipment maintenance experience, preferred
• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulics, mechanical and preventative maintenance, required
• Engineering or related knowledge, preferred
• Vocational School/Degree in HVAC, EPA, or Engineering, preferred
• Ability to understand occupational hazards and utilize standard safety practices
• Ability to troubleshoot, identify, and correct routine maintenance and repair problems
• Strong ability to work independently and with others and perform duties with minimum supervision

Physical Demands/Requirements

• Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
• Cold working conditions - Ability to withstand prolonged work assignments in temperatures as low as 34 degrees Fahrenheit; Temperature fluctuations in the warehouse
• Hot working conditions - Ability to withstand prolonged work assignments in temperatures up to 100 degrees+ Fahrenheit; Temperature fluctuations due to the work environment and weather conditions
• Ability to move freely in and around obstacles common in the meat production room
