RN - ICU


Job Details:


• 12-hour shifts available on both day shift (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and night shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend rotation required
• 70% holiday coverage expected
• 13-week schedule cycle
• Minimum 2 years of experience in ICU specialty required
• First-time travelers will be considered but are not preferred
• ICU nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 on days and nights, may increase to 1:3 depending on acuity
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and CPI (CPI will be offered if not already obtained); TNCC preferred
• Required ICU skills include arrhythmia monitoring, sedation, paralytics, titratable drips knowledge, CVP monitoring, caring for post-craniotomy patients, and TPA administration
• CCRN and TNCC preferred
• Travelers will not be assigned to CRRT or IABPs
• Common patient diagnoses include drug overdose, psychosis, MI, subarachnoid hemorrhage, MVC, sepsis, ARF, AAA, acute hypoxic respiratory failure, hypoglycemia, pneumonia, and suicide attempts
• Unit equipped with Life Link, CRRT, and intra-aortic balloon pump capabilities
• EMR system: EPIC
• Department equipment includes cardiac monitors, Precision BBG monitor, specialty beds, bed and chair alarms, BiPap, ventilators, Alaris pumps, Virtual RN, and Virtual Patient Observer
• May float to all Med-Surg and Critical Care areas including ED boarders
• Orientation includes first week of NEO Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, followed by 2-3 days of departmental orientation on the floor
• Scrub color: Navy

This facility is a 361-licensed-bed teaching hospital with a residency program and Level 2 Trauma Designation. It features a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center, offering comprehensive care across a wide range of specialties including medical-surgical, oncology, orthopedics, pulmonology, vascular and bariatric surgery, cardiac stepdown, neurology stepdown, and a combined medical, surgical, neuro, and cardiac ICU. The facility provides robust departmental support including CNAs, nurse techs, respiratory therapists, phlebotomists, educators, safety sitters, virtual patient observers, virtual RN capabilities, and on-site security.
