Residential EstimatorZuern Building Products & Design Center is actively seeking a full time Residential Estimator. Zuern Building Products & Design Center is a family-owned and operated building material supplier and design company. We are "Building on Service".Job Summary: Prepares highly accurate estimates and material lists based on construction blueprints and specifications in a timely manner.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This list is not all-inclusive and may be expanded as management deems necessary.Create highly accurate material takeoffs on various plans (new construction, remodels, additions) through our in-house estimating softwareSize joists, beams, and headers using manufacturer softwareWork closely with Estimating team membersCollaborate with Account Managers and Coordinators to ensure takeoffs align with project requirementsWillingness to listen carefully and comprehend instructions and feedbackRequired QualificationsGeneral working knowledge of the residential construction process and materialsAbility to read and interpret blueprints with strong attention to detailAbility to follow specific, detailed instructionsStrong organizational skillsProficient in basic math and computer applicationsProfessional, reliable, and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and accountabilityExcellent communication and teamwork skillsPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience as a residential estimator, take-off specialist, or in a similar construction-related roleAssociate degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related fieldProficiency with estimating or design software (e.g., PlanSwift, iStruct, or similar tools)Familiarity with engineered wood products, truss systems, and residential framing practicesKnowledge of advanced building codes, energy efficiency standards, and sustainable construction practicesThe right candidate is self-motivated and eager to join a growing and dynamic company!
