Required Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a hospital clinical laboratory setting
• Proficiency in macroscopic description of gross anatomic features
• Experience performing gross examination and dissection of large/complex specimens
• Skilled in dissection of small biopsies and tissue preparation for histological processing
• Competence in sectioning surgical pathology specimens, fixation, receipt, and labeling
• Ability to obtain and review patient clinical information (e.g., scans, lab results)
• Experience with tumor triage and performing adult and fetal autopsies
• Certification: ASCP-PA (Pathologists Assistant) required

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with specimen accessioning and frozen section staining
• Postmortem examination skills, including removal of brain and spinal cord
• Expertise in gross and microscopic photography
• Masters degree is preferred

Preferred Education and Experience

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a hospital clinical lab environment
• Travel experience is required and highly valued
• Certification as an ASCP-PA is mandatory

Other Requirements

• Ability to work a 5x8-hour day shift (08:00 - 16:30, Monday to Friday)
• No call, float, or weekend requirements
• Must complete an 8-hour Epic unit orientation and hospital orientation during the first week
• Scrubs: Caribbean Blue
• Compensation: Competitive pay rate of $84.60/hour, weekly via direct deposit
• Benefits include comprehensive medical coverage (W-2), paid sick time, referral bonuses, licensure and certification reimbursements, and travel expenses when applicable
• Start date: July 13, 2026
• Full-time 40-hour work week with possible 16-week contracts
