Job Summary

As a Medical Scribe your main job will be to accompany the physician in to the room and document patient visit while assisting the physician if needed. We are looking for an experienced candidate who can work positively and efficiently with the doctor as a Medical Scribe.

Must have at least 1 year of experience in a medical office or setting with extensive medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• EMR knowledge and experience preferred
• Generating referrals
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining a professional demeanor and positive attitude
• Maintaining HIPAA compliance
• Accurately transcribing physician's dictation of medical office visits and x-rays;
• Proofs dictations/reports for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, and proper medical terminology; corrects errors or brings to the attention of the dictating physician, as appropriate.
• Must be able to transcribe the spoken word into words, symbols and terms which reflects the medical assessment of the clinical practitioners.
• Queries physicians for clarification when documentation is inadequate, ambiguous, or unclear for coding purposes.
• The candidate must show maturity, integrity, an ability to multitask, and work independently.

Qualifications

• Experience in the use of medical terminology required.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Previous knowledge of coding preferred
• Medical Scribe: 1 year (Preferred)
• Typing 40-60 WPM
