Neuro Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Neuro Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a critical role in caring for patients undergoing neuro surgical procedures. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in nursing, with a focus on neuro diagnoses and post-operative care. Responsibilities will include monitoring patient progress, administering medications, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5-6, providing high-quality care to neuro surgical patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders.
• Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using the Epic charting system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams and physical therapy.
• Provide patient and family education regarding post-operative care and recovery.
• Participate in assigned shifts during storm or disaster response situations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a nursing role, preferably in neuro surgical or similar settings.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS preferred.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty.
• Valid RN license in North Carolina or Compact license.
