Work Here!**Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities**The Part-Time Youth Specialist is responsible for maintaining the safety, security, and supervision of youth in the Juvenile Leadership Academy (JLA). This position provides direct supervision to youth in a secure residential setting by enforcing program rules, promoting positive behavior and accountability, supervising daily activities, responding to emergencies, documenting resident behavior, and serving as a positive role model while supporting the rehabilitation and personal development of youth. Male applicants only.**Minimum Job Requirements*** High School Diploma/GED* Must be 21 years of age or older* One year of Residential Supervision experience (preferred)* Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with the public and others* Valid Driver's License* Eligible to certified as a Juvenile Supervision Officer, which requires completion of CPR, First Aid, and Handle With Care Certification* Must be available to work various shifts, to include nights and weekends* Must be a Male applicant.**Salary:** $20.89 per hour (up to 29 hours per week)**Closing Date:** Upon filling position**For certain positions requiring certification, state standards shall disqualify an applicant if their criminal history reveals: 1) A felony conviction against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 10 years; a deferred adjudication for a felony against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 10 years or current felony probation or parole 2) A jailable misdemeanor conviction against the laws of this state, another state or the United States within the past 5 years; a deferred adjudication for a jailable misdemeanor against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 5 years or current misdemeanor probation or parole 3) Registered as a sex offender under Chapter 62, Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.****All full-time and part-time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS).
