This role is situated at a military medical center located in Fort Bragg, NC.This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) announcement aimed at utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to attract and appoint qualified individuals to competitive service roles.
The purpose of this announcement is to create a pool of readily available candidates for positions that are challenging to fill as they become open. Multiple vacancies may arise from this announcement, and we accept applications continuously; qualified candidates will be evaluated as positions become available.
Named in honor of Medal of Honor recipient PFC Bryant H. Womack, we operate a fully accredited 110-bed, evidence-based regional medical center and Graduate Medical Education (GME) facility serving Fort Bragg, the largest U.S. Army installation globally and home to Airborne and Special Operations. We manage several exceptional Primary Care practice locations in Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, Hope Mills, and Linden Oaks.
Our facility is conveniently located in Fayetteville, Fort Bragg, just two hours from the coast and five hours from the Appalachian Mountains, with easy access to I-95 for travel north and south. This central North Carolina area enjoys pleasant weather throughout the year. Numerous amenities are available, including premier golf courses, esteemed universities, a skeet range, riding stables, an ice skating rink, modern fitness centers, daycare services, high-quality dining options, full-service banking, convenience stores, barbershops, and florists.
ResponsibilitiesKey Duties:
- Deliver expertise in advanced general diagnostic radiology procedures, including but not limited to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), Mammography, Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA), Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound.
- Gather patient history for general radiographic diagnoses, review relevant laboratory test results, and evaluate the severity of illnesses.
- Supervise radiographic examinations, ensuring that appropriate procedures are followed, and relate symptoms to the patient's pain and illness.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
QualificationsEligibility: US Citizens
To qualify, candidates must meet the educational and/or experiential criteria outlined below. Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be considered. Your resume should clearly detail your relevant experience; if qualifying through education, transcripts will be required as part of your application.Basic Requirements for Physician (Radiology-Diagnostic):
- Degree: A Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from an accredited institution in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by recognized bodies such as the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation. A foreign medical degree must demonstrate equivalency to accredited U.S. schools, evidenced by permanent certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.
- Licensure: Candidates must hold a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
- Graduate Training: After obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, candidates must have at least one year of supervised clinical experience, such as a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an accredited institution.
- Residency Training for GP-14 Position: Applicants must have successfully completed the required accredited residency training in the specialty of Radiology-Diagnostic and possess equivalent experience and training totaling at least four years. Experience cannot substitute for the residency training required for this specialty.
Salary Information: If selected for a Physician position, a salary quote will not be provided at the time of the initial job offer. The salary determination process will commence after the initial job offer is accepted, involving the Activity Compensation Panel to establish your starting salary based on base pay and market pay.
Compensation for physician roles is based on a tier scale, influenced by the specialty, grade, and location of the position. This announcement may be utilized to fill roles within the following tier:
- Tier 2: $145,000 - $320,000
