Job Summary
Execute complex and confidential procedures support the visibility, promotion, and engagement of Central Arizona College Athletics. This position is responsible for maintaining the athletics web presence, coordinating communications and media relations, supporting recruitment marketing efforts, and strengthening community connections. The role ensures accurate, timely, and strategic dissemination of information related to athletic programs, student-athletes, and events. Responsibilities
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of related experience in communications, marketing, or athletics administration. Background Verification : As a condition of employment, all candidates accepting an offer of employment for a full-time, part- time, temporary, student worker, or volunteer position, will be required to undergo a Background Verification. Employment with Central Arizona College is contingent upon the successful completion of the background verification. The level the background verification for this position is: Standard level. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work is sedentary work. The employee is occasionally required to exert up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing voices and distinguishing among sounds, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity in data/color/observations/inspecting. Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other facilities due to long periods of repetitive motion. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Important Level - Position engages in or requires some or all of the following: uses alternative or combined human relations skills in understanding other people and influencing their behavior in order to achieve job objectives; applies skills of persuasiveness or assertiveness, as well as sensitivity to other person's point of view in order to influence their behavior, change an opinion, or turn a situation around; and deals with confidential information; and has a high level of contact with students, program participants, and/or the public. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs. Job is performed in general office or comparable working area with occasional distractions such as noise and interruptions or in congested work areas with exposure to some disagreeable elements. Position may require travel throughout the District. Duties performed will require evening, weekend, and holiday hours. - Maintain and update the CAC Athletics website daily, including schedules, rosters, statistics, news releases, and multimedia content.
- Develop and produce marketing and recruitment materials for athletic programs, including digital and print assets for coaches and outreach efforts.
- Serve as the primary liaison for media relations, including writing press releases, coordinating interviews, and maintaining relationships with local and regional media outlets.
- Oversee and manage all Athletics social media accounts, including content planning, posting, engagement, and analytics tracking.
- Coordinate game-day communications, including event coverage, statistics reporting, photography, and live updates.
- Create and distribute athletics publications such as game programs, media guides, and promotional materials.
- Support recruitment efforts by showcasing student-athlete success stories, program highlights, and campus life through various communication channels.
- Collaborate with coaches, student-athletes, and campus departments to ensure accurate and consistent messaging across platforms.
- Enhance community relations by promoting CAC Athletics through partnerships, outreach events, and public engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with NJCAA and institutional regulations related to reporting, publicity, and student-athlete information.
- Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating athletics communication strategies and branding efforts.
- Coordinate photography, videography, and multimedia content creation to support athletics storytelling and promotion.
- Track and analyze engagement metrics across web and social platforms to improve outreach and communication effectiveness.
- Provide general administrative and operational support for athletics communications and events as needed.
