About the Role

We are looking for an IT Operations Manager to serve as the hands-on technical backbone of the organization and a key partner to the CTO.

What You'll Do

Devices & Endpoints

● Own the full lifecycle of company-issued technology: configuration, deployment, maintenance, repair, refresh, and retirement.

● Perform hands-on hardware work — upgrades, component replacement, imaging, and peripheral and workstation setup.

● Administer user accounts, group membership, and access within defined boundaries and approval processes.

● Partner with the company's support provider to keep devices current on patching, updates, and security-agent compliance.

● Keep conference room, presentation, and shared-office technology in reliable working order.

Onboarding, Offboarding & Team Support

● Partner with People & Culture and hiring managers so every new team member has working equipment, accounts, and access on day one.

● Execute transfers and departures completely and on schedule — device recovery, account deactivation, and access removal, with no gaps.

● Be a responsive, patient, and genuinely helpful resource for technology questions from every location, including attentive support for leadership, firm meetings, and events.

● Build simple, usable how-to and onboarding materials.

Asset, Procurement & Vendor Management

● Maintain a trustworthy inventory of all technology assets — who has what, where it is, and where it sits in its lifecycle — including tagging, periodic physical audits, and reporting (on a platform you'll be trained on).

● Prepare purchase requests, quotes, and orders for approval; research and evaluate vendors; and coordinate delivery, warranty claims, and returns.

● Administer cellular service plans and connected-device programs: activations, transfers, renewals, plan changes, and usage review.

● Serve as the day-to-day coordinator with the support provider and with hardware, carrier, and service vendors — driving tickets and escalations to closure and holding partners to their response commitments.

Budgeting, Spend & Planning

● Track licensing counts, subscriptions, and renewal dates.

● Support monthly allocation of technology and telecom costs across business units and properties, and reconcile invoices against records.

● Surface savings — unused licenses, redundant services, and plan optimization.

● Support departmental budgeting and forecasting in partnership with the CFO.

Documentation, Compliance & Improvement

● Maintain runbooks, checklists, configuration records, and standard procedures so the work is repeatable and does not live in one person's head.

● Partner with the CTO on insurance questionnaires, investor and lender diligence, and periodic access reviews — primarily by gathering accurate records and evidence.

● Identify recurring problems and repetitive manual work, and propose better ways to handle them.

What You Bring

● 5–7 years in IT support, desktop or endpoint support, technology operations, or a similar hands-on technical role.

● Hands-on competence with business computers, mobile devices, and common workplace technology, including hardware troubleshooting, upgrades, and imaging.

● Working knowledge of networking fundamentals — addressing, DNS, DHCP, wireless — and the ability to troubleshoot connectivity at a site level.

● Practical understanding of security hygiene: access control, multi-factor authentication, patching, least privilege, and phishing awareness.

● Experience maintaining equipment inventory or asset records, and comfort working within defined access boundaries, change approval, and documentation requirements.

● Strong organization and follow-through — you close loops without being reminded.

Nice to Have

● Experience supporting both Windows and Apple devices.

● Exposure to endpoint or mobile device management (MDM), asset management, or ticketing and IT service management (ITSM) practices.

● Foundational certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+.

● Experience supporting geographically distributed locations and working alongside an outsourced IT provider.

● Familiarity with cellular services, connected devices, access control, cameras, or phone systems.

● Exposure to real estate, property management, construction, development, hospitality, or other multi-site operating businesses.
