Step into a meaningful part-time role supporting a 13-year-old student with Autism who is currently experiencing school refusal. This flexible contract opportunity is based near Clark, MO and begins as soon as possible, offering an initial commitment of 8 hours per week with the potential to increase hours as the student progresses.

Your expertise as a Special Education Teacher will be vital in guiding this student back into a positive educational routine. With case management duties handled separately, you can focus fully on instruction and relationship-building.

What we’re looking for:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Background working with students on the Autism spectrum
• Experience supporting students dealing with school avoidance or anxiety is a major plus
• Strong ability to individualize instruction for emotional and academic needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families and school staff
• Patience, empathy, and a creative approach to engagement

Key responsibilities:

• Support the reintegration and academic engagement of a 13-year-old student
• Develop tailored instructional strategies and activities based on the student’s interests and needs
• Foster a welcoming, encouraging environment that builds trust and reduces anxiety around school participation
• Track and report on student progress as time and hours expand
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary support team as needed
