Veterinary Technician or Assistant - Avian/Exotics at Angell West

This is a full-time position. Sunday-Wednesday 7:30am-5:30pm, 40hrs a week with potential for holidays. We are looking for an experienced Assistant or a Certified Vet Technician to join our Waltham team. This position provides technical support to our Avian/Exotics Veterinarian by assisting with case management and technical procedures of A/E patients, as well as communications with clients and referring veterinarians. We are looking for applicants with Avian/Exotic specific technical skills including, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia, gavage feeding, medication administration and critical care. This position provides a unique opportunity to practice in an intimate client-focused setting, but with numerous amenities from the larger MSPCA-Angell Boston hospital as support. COMPENSATION: Veterinary Assistants starting $22-$27/hour Certified Veterinary Technicians starting $25-$30/hr, $5000 Sign on Bonus for CVTs! Please note that candidates with additional experience or credentials may be eligible for compensation aligned with their qualifications

Required Previous Animal Handling Experience Advanced

Education

Preferred Associates or better in Veterinary Technology or related field.

Experience

Required 1 year: As an Veterinary Assistant, if you have a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a fast paced animal clinic or wildlife sanctuary or animal hospital. To be hired as a technician a qualified candidate must be a Certified Veterinary Technician Equal Opportunity Employer
