Our primary care physicians specialize in Internal Medicine and Family Medicine. We are located at 1 Widger Road Marblehead, MA 01945. We are seeking a full-time 40 hour Medical Assistant to work on site. The practice operates Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. This MA will work 1:1 with a provider in a fast-paced clinical setting. The role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow. This role involves direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.Essential Functions- Assists junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and responsibilities and helps facilitate their learning by participating in onboarding training. - Shows patients to examination rooms, prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers, and interview patients to obtain medical information, measure their vital signs, weight, and height, and record information in the patient's medical record. - Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions to patients, ordering and organizing educational materials to reinforce patient education. - Performs general office duties, such as answering phones, taking dictation, and completing insurance forms, while acting as a liaison with other departments and advocating for patients with a positive customer service approach. - Collects blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log them, and prepare them for testing; perform phlebotomy if competence is demonstrated. - Maintains inventory of immunizations and check expiration dates. - Provides immunizations (as applicable) which requires certification or 3 years of experience administering a vaccine and supervision of a provider. - Responsible for improving appropriate departmental quality initiatives, such as two patient identifiers and hand hygiene.QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or Equivalent requiredAssociate's Degree Medical Assisting preferredCan this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?NoLicenses and CredentialsBasic Life Support [BLS Certification] preferredCertified Medical Assistant [National Certification] preferredExperienceDirect MA experience or medical field work 1-2 years requiredAdditional Job Details (if applicable)Strongly Preferred:Medical Assistant Course or diploma program or a minimum of 1 year professional experienceNational MA Certification via AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCTEpic experienceAmbulatory/Outpatient experienceRemote TypeOnsiteWork Location1 Widger RoadScheduled Weekly Hours40Employee TypeRegularWork ShiftDay (United States of America)Pay Range$22.75 - $24.94/HourlyGrade3At Mass General Brigham, we believe in recognizing and rewarding the unique value each team member brings to our organization.
