We recognize that our diverse workforce allows us to provide culturally competent care to everyone in our community.The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing psychiatric medication services to patients, many of whom experience co-occurring mental health and substance use-related concerns. This position collaborates with and supports the multidisciplinary mental health team to ensure a patient-focused, harm reduction, and trauma-informed approach to care.As part of the essential functions of this role, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:Screens patients for common psychiatric, substance use, and/or medical co-morbidities and evaluates co-existing conditions and the implications on the patient care/needsEnsures the timely completion of admission assessments, required psychiatric assessments, psychiatric, substance use, and medical histories and follow-ups, lab testing, as required by state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and sound medical practicePrescribes and titrates the appropriate dosage of medicationsWrites medical orders based on the individual needs of the patientWorks within an integrated treatment model coordinating treatment with both internal and external providers as indicatedServes as a role model for positive, warm, welcoming, productive, and cooperative relationships with staff and clientsAdheres to Office of Mental Health (OMH) regulations and Evergreen Health policies and procedures, including regulatory timeframes on clinical documentation, using an electronic medical record systemCollaborates with and supports team members to ensure a patient-focused approach to careAttends and participates in case conference, center meetings, and program initiativesQualified Candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner training program, be a certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, and be licensed to practice in New York State; candidate must have current BLS/CPR certifications, and experience utilizing EMR software (Medent preferred); Two years of direct care practice experience as a PNP preferred; ability to travel between Evergreen locations is required; awareness of and sensitivity to the issues and health disparities faced by underserved populations is essentialJob Type: Full time; schedule is negotiable between 10 hour shifts or 8 hour shiftsRequired Education, license/certification: graduate of an accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner training program, licensed to practice in New York State; certified PNP, with current BLS/CPR certificationsExperience: Two years direct care practice experience as a PNP preferredWhat Evergreen Health Offers You:Multiple comprehensive medical health insurance plans for you to choose fromDental and Vision coverage at no cost to youPaid Time Off package that equals 4 weeks in your first year403b with a generous company matchPaid parking or monthly metro passProfessional development opportunitiesPaid lunch breaksThis position is posted with a salary range.
