Position Overview

A growing and well-established Miami law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Family Law Attorney to manage complex family law matters from inception through resolution. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident litigator who thrives with autonomy, enjoys direct client interaction, and is capable of independently managing a substantial caseload.

The ideal candidate will have strong family law litigation experience, excellent client management skills, and the ability to lead strategy on divorce, custody, support, and high-asset family law matters.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of family law matters from intake through settlement or trial.
• Handle divorce, child custody, timesharing, support, equitable distribution, and related family law disputes.
• Develop and execute case strategy while advising clients on risks, options, and next steps.
• Draft, review, and argue pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Conduct depositions and manage all phases of litigation.
• Represent clients at hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements and work toward efficient case resolution.
• Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure cases move forward efficiently.
• Maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional client service.
• Identify legal and procedural issues early and proactively address them.
• Participate in business development efforts and cultivate client relationships to support future practice growth.

Required Qualifications

• Active Florida Bar membership in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of family law experience.
• Strong litigation background, including hearings, motion practice, and court appearances.
• Proven ability to independently manage a family law caseload.
• Excellent legal writing, oral advocacy, and client communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, professional judgment, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple active matters simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling complex, high-net-worth, or high-conflict family law matters.
• Strong mediation, negotiation, and settlement skills.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, or training junior attorneys or legal staff.
• Book of business or interest in business development is a plus.
