Role Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Database Engineer who combines deep technical expertise with a forwardthinking approach to data infrastructure. In this role, you will architect, develop, and optimize the data systems that power their identity and analytics solutions-working at the intersection of largescale data engineering, ETL process design, and AIassisted workflow optimization.

You will collaborate crossfunctionally to build and continuously refine core data assets. A key expectation of this role is the proactive application of AI tools and techniques to accelerate development cycles, identify optimization opportunities, and elevate the quality of data pipelines. Candidates with handson experience leveraging AI in database and data engineering workflows are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain highperformance relational and analytical databases with an emphasis on scalability and reliability.
• Architect and optimize ETL pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and delivering largescale structured and semistructured data.
• Apply AI and machine learning tools to enhance database performance, automate repetitive processes, and surface actionable insights from complex data assets.
• Leverage AIassisted code generation, anomaly detection, and query optimization techniques to accelerate development and reduce technical debt.
• Partner with data scientists and engineers to integrate AIdriven data quality checks and intelligent monitoring into pipeline workflows.
• Support website visitor identification, adserving attribution, measurement pipelines, and logfile tracking through robust database solutions.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging AI tooling relevant to data engineering-including LLMassisted SQL generation, automated schema inference, and intelligent data cataloging.
• Mentor junior team members on best practices in database design, query optimization, and responsible AI integration.
• Contribute to the evolution of the data architecture strategy with an eye toward realtime processing, governance, and compliance in regulated markets.

Qualifications
Required

• Expertlevel SQL proficiency with 5+ years of handson database development experience.
• Proven database design and ETL skills across largescale, production environments.
• Experience with Amazon Redshift or comparable cloudnative analytical databases (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Strong grasp of data modeling, normalization, indexing strategies, and query optimization techniques.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problemsolving abilities, with a track record of resolving complex data challenges.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

Preferred

• Demonstrated experience integrating AI tools into database workflows-such as AIassisted query tuning, automated ETL anomaly detection, or LLMaugmented data pipeline development.
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks applied to structured data collection, classification, and optimization problems.
• Background in web analytics infrastructure: visitor tracking, tagging, logfile analysis, ad serving, attribution, and measurement pipelines.
• Experience as a database application programmer on bigdata or realtime processing projects.
• Database architect experience with a strong systems design orientation.
