Assembler - Rotating Machinists Department Position Summary

The Assembler in the Rotating Machinists Department is responsible for assembling, inspecting, testing, and repairing precision rotating components and subassemblies used in aerospace and industrial applications. This role requires adherence to detailed engineering specifications, manufacturing procedures, and quality standards to ensure safe, reliable, and high-performance products. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to excellence in a precision manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assemble rotating mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Perform precision fitting, alignment, balancing, and adjustment of rotating assemblies.
  • Inspect parts and assemblies using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools.
  • Conduct functional testing and troubleshooting of assemblies to verify performance and conformance to specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, bills of materials, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Identify and report defects, nonconformances, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate production, quality, and testing records.
  • Collaborate with machinists, quality inspectors, engineers, and production personnel to resolve assembly issues.
  • Follow all safety procedures, quality requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area in accordance with 5S principles and manufacturing best practices.
  • Meet established production schedules while maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school training or vocational certification in manufacturing, machining, mechanical assembly, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in mechanical assembly, machining, aerospace manufacturing, or precision manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with precision measurement tools and assembly equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic production documentation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sarasota, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
