Field Service Technician

Diablo has a unique history that started with the closing of a regional furnace maker in Northern Illinois. When they closed their doors, Machine Tool Builders, the parent company of Diablo Furnaces, decided to open a new branch of their business. So, in 2017, we began our business by re-employing the displaced workers, thus gaining a veteran team of skilled engineers and long‑time heat‑treating industry experts. With this foundation, we began to innovate new approaches to custom furnace design focusing on keeping costs low and working with both new and rebuilt furnace equipment. Diablo now holds an unprecedented place in the market as one of the only heat‑treating solution providers in the United States able to complete custom furnace design. Job Description Supervise on site equipment installations Perform commissioning and Acceptance Testing Perform Operation and Maintenance Training Perform factory floor calibrations in strict accordance with governing standards (AMS2750, CQI-9, BAC5621, etc.) Conduct pyrometry testing services (TUS, SATs, etc.) Troubleshoot process control, furnace, or burner systems Repair process control systems Analyze all data, develop and implement action plans Understand relevant quality standards/assessments (AMS2750, CQI-9, BAC5621, etc.) Assist with furnace manufacturing as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned. Travel up to 60% of the time. Qualifications Qualifications and Education Requirements Minimum of 2 years’ experience with calibrations and temperature uniformity surveys for thermal processing equipment, preferred. Knowledge in the use of test equipment such as meters/calibrators, preferred. Ability to work with basic hand tools. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Skills Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Ability to work independently w/minimal supervision. Ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to thrive in a critical thinking environment. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated problem‑solving techniques. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
