We serve a population of over 250,000 and feature two hospitals, two urgent cares, an emergency care center, outpatient services and a provider network with 19 regional locations. Summary Responsible for the sanitation of food service utensils and service‑ware, floor mats, service carts, dishwashing/pots machinery area. Participates in preparation for and calling of patient meal service tray‑lines, empties garbage, collects/washes service‑ware from cafeteria service, patient service, and special function service. Assists unit stock per “daily stocking sheets” as needed. The population served by this position is in the pediatric to geriatric age group, primarily in the 20‑65 year old category. Responsibilities Consistently clean utensils and equipment to standards according to sanitation survey. Utilize a two‑man system of dishwashing to assure separation of handling dirty and clean service‑ware. Follow proper procedures for disposal of contaminated wastes received on patients soiled meal trays, comply with proper methods of silverware washing, clean caddy carts after each meal and utility carts before each use, adhere to schedule for garbage collection/disposal, and ensure dish machine temperatures are logged. Consistently stock tray‑line with condiments and service‑ware, ensuring clean containers and all service‑ware faces the same direction. Prepare regular and decaffeinated coffee and coffee service, line trays with place mats, load, deliver and retrieve patient meal service carts in a safe and efficient manner using the golf cart or a two‑man system of transport for deliveries outside the hospital. Organize work area to allow for the greatest level of efficiency. Consistently use carts to deliver equipment to storage sites and complete job responsibilities according to the established job task schedule. Maintain attendance, breaks, and appearance in accordance with hospital standards. Actively support the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic directions. Assist in unit kitchen stock, catering service, and clean‑ups. Provide unit stock, per amounts established by the Diet Clerk, utilizing the daily stocking sheet. Comply with standards of safety. Maintain confidentiality. Additional responsibilities may include adhering to all department‑specific and hospital policies and procedures and performing any other duties requested by their supervisor.
