Litigation Attorney
Seeking an Attorney to help with drafting motions and attending hearings to represent clients in court. Seeking a Litigation Attorney with 5+ years of experience to join its General Liability Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have experience defending a broad range of general liability claims, including transportation, construction, product liability, and commercial liability matters in both federal and state courts.
Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare summaries of medical records to support case strategy and client advocacy.
- Draft motions and appear at hearings and court proceedings.
- Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions as needed.
- Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
- Draft initial, interim, pre-trial, trial, and appellate reports and filings.
- Respond to discovery requests and prepare discovery-related motions.
- Draft motions for summary judgment.
- Regularly attend court appearances and advocate for clients.
- Manage litigation matters efficiently from inception through resolution.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant litigation experience, preferably in general liability defense.
- Admission to practice law in Illinois.
- Experience with defense of transportation, construction, product liability, and/or commercial liability claims.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience drafting and responding to discovery-related motions.
- Experience taking and defending depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
- Experience drafting and arguing summary judgment motions.
- Strong courtroom and litigation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
- Preferably the candidates have tort or insurance defense experience.
