Assistant Instructor

The Assistant Instructor position is a one-year focused educational experience for individuals who have completed an Otolaryngology residency and wish to pursue advanced training in the medical and surgical management of advanced head & neck oncology and microvascular reconstructive surgery. Approximately 20% of the fellow's time will be devoted to research and scholarly activity, the remainder to clinical duties. The position will perform independent clinician responsibilities such as call and clinic, etc. The candidate must be an applicant of the Head & Neck Fellowship program and selected through the Match process. Candidates must successfully complete an Otolaryngology residency prior to beginning the fellowship and must be board certified in Otolaryngology and eligible for a Texas Medical License. This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information. To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishment and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
