Core Lab Supervisor - Academic Hospital

An esteemed academic medical center in the Bronx is seeking Chemistry Supervisor to lead a high-volume hospital chemistry department, overseeing operations, staff, and the ongoing implementation of new automated instrumentation across a multi-shift environment.

Job Function:
- Oversees 12-15 direct reports across 3 shifts
- Responsible for full chemistry department operations
- Monday-Friday 8am-4pm (flexibility required)
- Leading instrumentation upgrades + automation rollout
- Managing staffing optimization (per diem FT conversions)
- Acts as primary escalation point for clinical, technical, and operational issues
- NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license
- 4+ years clinical lab experience with 1+ year leadership
- Strong chemistry discipline expertise (core + automation)
- Experience with:
- Instrument validation/implementation
- QA/QC, CAP/CLIA compliance
- Staff scheduling + performance management
- Ability to manage shift coverage challenges and retention
- Comfortable in hands-on, visible leadership role onsite
