Dietary Aide

Nutrition AssistantThe Nutrition Assistant is responsible for implementing patient diet orders in a therapeutically accurate manner while enhancing patient satisfaction with meal service. The Nutrition Assistant would work with Clinical Dietitians and other food service staff as needed to accomplish successful fulfillment of patient dietary needs.Utilize all tools and resources to provide therapeutically correct meal items for patients.Answer room service telephone calls and utilize room service software in an accurate and efficient manner.Identify patients needing assistance and patients who are unable to participate in room service, provide the appropriate assistance to enable these patients to meet food preferences within the constraints of their diet orders.Monitor and implement appropriate interventions for patients with potential drug nutrient interactions, and for patients with food allergies as well as patients on insulin.Communicate effectively with Dietitians, staff in food service, and staff in other parts of the organization, regarding patient care needs.Provide outstanding customer service, resulting in a high level of patient satisfaction.Understands the needs of diverse patients of different ages and backgrounds.Is able to learn and implement resources for maintaining therapeutic accuracy of diet order.Can provide care that is appropriate to each patient’s needs.Can work successfully as a team member, focusing on positive outcomes for patients, co-workers, and the organization.Exhibits excellent listening skills and customer service skills.Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.Experience: Preferred but not required.Health, dental, prescription, and vision coverage for full-time & part-time employeesShort-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance coverageCompetitive pay and earned time accrual planTuition Reimbursement and career advancement opportunities403(b) Retirement Savings PlanSupplemental benefits, including access to the Welliot Health Center
