Location: Denville, NJ

Pay: $20-$22/hour; Overtime: $30-$36/hour

Shift: 7:30am-3:30pm

Job Description

This role involves operating sit-down forklifts to safely load and unload trailers, move raw materials, and support general warehouse operations. You will handle materials of various sizes with great care, maintain accurate inventory records, and assist with shipping, receiving, and other warehouse tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload materials within the warehouse and from trailers.
• Unload raw materials from trailers and stage them in designated areas, ensuring accurate placement and secure handling.
• Load trailers with finished goods or materials, ensuring proper stacking, balance, and protection of products.
• Handle materials of various sizes and weights carefully to prevent damage to products, equipment, and surroundings.
• Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying counts, checking labels, and organizing materials in the correct locations.
• Support inventory control activities by accurately tracking, scanning, and recording materials using RF scanners.
• Assist with general warehouse tasks as needed, including organizing storage areas, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting team members.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating forklifts and performing material handling duties.
• Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily operations.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to coordinate material movement and meet production needs.

Essential Skills

• 13 years of experience operating sit-down forklifts in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Proficiency in safe forklift operation for loading and unloading trailers and handling materials.
• Experience with material handling, including moving, staging, and organizing various sizes of materials.
• Hands-on experience with inventory control processes in a warehouse setting.
• Ability to use RF scanners for tracking and managing inventory.
• Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Attention to detail when handling different sizes and types of materials to avoid damage.
• Ability to perform shipping and receiving tasks accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a shipping and receiving environment.
• Experience unloading raw materials and organizing them in designated storage areas.
• Strong organizational skills to support efficient material flow and inventory accuracy

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down propane forklift safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload, move, and store materials.
• Pick, pack, palletize, and prepare orders for shipment.
• Support shipping and receiving operations.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through counting and material tracking.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Follow all safety procedures and warehouse standards.
• Assist with general warehouse and material handling duties.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet operational goals.

Qualities

• Previous forklift experience required.
• Warehouse or material handling experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denville, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
