TIMES: High School CAs: 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
Middle School CAs: 7:30 am - 1 pm

POSITION LOCATION: Tappan Middle School

SALARY: AAEA/P Salary Schedule

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Summer School Program Administrators

The following is a list of qualifications for the position, any one of which may be waived by the Board in exercising its prerogative to determine qualifications.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• A high school diploma or bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Experience working with high and middle-school-aged children.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work in corridors, lunchrooms, and around the school grounds where students gather in order to prevent problems and discourage loitering as assigned.
• Support with communicating with families concerning student's progress
• Report to local school administration problems between students or groups of students as they develop.
• Encourage students to attend class regularly and promptly.
• Assist in resolving student conflicts.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Other duties may be assigned.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Read, write and comprehend basic instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff, parents, students and administrators.
• Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Perform basic arithmetical calculations.

REASONING ABILITY

• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

• Knowledge and prior use of conflict management skills.
