Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Well Extremities, you will play a crucial role in the rehabilitation process for our patients. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Implementing individualized physical therapy treatment plans designed by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols.
- Guiding patients through therapeutic exercises tailored to their specific recovery needs, focusing on restoring function and reducing pain.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress, responses to treatment, and making necessary modifications under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
- Educating patients on appropriate movement techniques, home exercise programs, and injury prevention strategies to enhance their recovery journey.
- Ensuring patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions, fostering an environment of trust and care.
- Collaborating with team members—including PTs, physicians, and nursing staff—to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and insurance requirements to support patient care and billing processes.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- An Associate's Degree in Physical Therapist Assistance from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- A valid Physical Therapist Assistant license issued by the state of New York.
- A solid understanding of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and rehabilitation protocols to provide effective patient care.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
Preferred Experience
While 2 years of relevant experience is required, preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience working within a hospital or clinical environment.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, particularly Web PT, to streamline documentation and patient management processes.
