They work on transactions that provide exposure to various investment banking services, including a predominant M&A focus and private placements across equity and debt.ResponsibilitiesAs an Associate, you will:Prepare, analyze, and explain historical and projected financial informationCoordinate and perform business due diligence and execute M&A transactionsPrepare marketing materials, confidential information presentations, management presentations, and other presentations as neededPerform valuation and ad hoc financial analysesAssist in the marketing and execution of existing engagementsBuild relationships and maintain direct contact with clients, prospective clients, and professional advisorsCommunicate effectively with all members of the team, including the supervision and mentoring of junior staff membersRequirements / QualificationsThe environment at Houlihan Lokey is results-driven and entrepreneurial. As such, it rewards top performers with substantial responsibility and interaction with senior-level professionals and clients.The following qualifications/skills are required:You will have a strong academic track record3-5 years of investment banking experience within either an M&A generalist or industry teamA solid understanding of the sell-side M&A process, along with proven experience in successfully closing dealsFundamental understanding of financial valuation methodologies and applicationsAdvanced financial modeling and analytical abilities; Strong LBO and DCF modeling skillsStrong qualitative and quantitative research skillsUnderstanding of financial statements analysis with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats, and limitationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essentialAdvanced knowledge of ExcelIndependent thinker and resourceful problem solverStrong work ethic, organizational skills, and ability to multitaskMotivated and demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff in a rapidly changing, demanding, but ultimately rewarding environmentAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environmentCompensation and BenefitsHoulihan Lokey is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive total compensation package, which may include other components such as discretionary incentive compensation.
