Director Of Data Center Development
Our client is a rapidly growing developer of hyperscale, AI, cloud, and mission-critical infrastructure seeking a Director of Data Center Development to lead site selection, land acquisition, utility coordination, and campus development initiatives throughout North America. Responsibilities include identifying and evaluating new data center development opportunities, leading site selection efforts based on power availability, fiber connectivity, land characteristics, incentives, and customer demand, managing land acquisition, due diligence, entitlement, and permitting activities, coordinating utility power procurement and infrastructure planning, developing relationships with hyperscale, colocation, AI, and cloud customers, leading negotiations involving municipalities, utility providers, landowners, and economic development agencies, supporting customer proposals, RFP responses, and development agreements, and working closely with executive leadership, engineering, construction, and operations teams.
Requirements include identifying and evaluating new data center development opportunities, leading site selection efforts based on power availability, fiber connectivity, land characteristics, incentives, and customer demand, managing land acquisition, due diligence, entitlement, and permitting activities, coordinating utility power procurement and infrastructure planning, developing relationships with hyperscale, colocation, AI, and cloud customers, leading negotiations involving municipalities, utility providers, landowners, and economic development agencies, supporting customer proposals, RFP responses, and development agreements, and working closely with executive leadership, engineering, construction, and operations teams. Preferred experience includes data center, mission-critical, infrastructure, industrial, or power development experience, experience supporting AWS, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Oracle, QTS, Vantage, Aligned, Compass, CyrusOne, or similar projects, and a strong understanding of utility power strategy, site selection, and large-scale infrastructure development.
