Current Opening:

We are currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant for our new facility in Ellsworth, ME. Hours are 6am-7am to 12-1pm with some flexibility.

Position Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant will be responsible for the provision of medical services to patients under the guidance of the Medical Director and the Program Director. The NP/PA monitors overall patient care and serves as an advocate for both patient needs and the needs of the medical department.

Duties and Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, CARF Standards, and Everest Recovery policy and procedure
• Support day to day Nursing staff in dispensary, provide knowledge transfer as appropriate
• Provide patient and staff education
• Prescribe medication and ensure appropriate dose (as allowed by Law)
• Admit patients and ensure safe induction to a therapeutic blocking dose.
• Medical exams, monitoring, referrals, and reviews
• Ensure complete and accurate documentation in patient record
• Attendance at administrative team meetings
• Advocate for patient needs
• Adherence to patient confidentiality as required by Federal and State Law and Regulations.

Requirements:

• Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant in ME
• 1+ year experience with psychiatric/mental health/substance use treatment services.
• Understanding of addiction treatment
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Good Communication skills
• Ability to be adaptable/flexible in a busy environment
• Good decision-making skills
