Accounts Payable Clerk

Location: Dallas, TX initially; transferring to Benbrook, TX
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Job Type: Full-Time | Temporary-to-Permanent

VSSI Staffing is hiring an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to support vendor billing, maintain accurate accounting records, and assist with daily accounting and administrative operations.

Location Requirement: This position will begin in Dallas for approximately two months. After that period, the assignment will transfer to Benbrook for the remainder of the temporary-to-permanent contract. Applicants must be available to work at both locations as scheduled.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify and enter vendor invoices, ensuring accurate pricing, services, and account information.
• Maintain vendor ledgers by reviewing and posting account transactions.
• Review vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Confirm new vendors are approved, verified, and set up for payment.
• Organize and maintain invoices, supporting documents, and historical accounting records.
• Assist with customer account setup after credit approval.
• Provide backup support for payroll processing and maintain employee time-off records.
• Assist with employee benefits administration, including insurance, 401(k), and COBRA-related documentation.
• Answer calls, relay messages, and document customer concerns for follow-up.
• Follow company quality procedures and assist with additional accounting projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software, with the ability to learn new systems.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to identify discrepancies, solve problems, and manage changing priorities.
• Dependable attendance and a professional, courteous approach.
