Patient Services Coordinator II

The Patient Services Coordinator II provides administrative support to health care providers in a high-volume ambulatory setting. This role functions as the primary interface between patients and providers. The emphasis is placed on the ability to organize priorities, complete tasks, manage confidential patient information, and enhance the quality of service to patients. Principal duties and responsibilities include performing all check-in and check-out functions. Maintaining confidentiality and privacy consistent with HIPAA guidelines is essential. The Coordinator will provide support and information to providers to problem-solve and manage complex administrative patient issues. Triage and manage complex telephone calls using courteous customer service skills are required. The Coordinator will completely perform and be a resource to other team members in all revenue enhancement activities, including registration verification, co-payment collection, cash management, and encounter form reconciliation. Scheduling patient appointments and procedures using relevant systems is a key responsibility. Managing in-baskets and work queues is also part of the role. The Coordinator will coordinate and track appointments through follow-up work queue lists. Assisting with training and orientation of new staff, where applicable, is expected. Performing all other related tasks to facilitate the flow of patients and enhance the quality of service to patients is essential. Other duties may be assigned as required.
