Position Overview and Qualifications

In this role, you will provide leadership that enhances the delivery of professional nursing care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients. You will employ the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to deliver, delegate, supervise, and document care and education for patients and their families. You will also carry out medically prescribed interventions.

Required qualifications include:

• Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required, or you must be enrolled in a BSN or advanced degree program with the goal of obtaining a BSN within five years of starting your RN position. Grandfathering will be accepted between departments and entities. Extensions may be granted by the facility's Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and reported to the CNO Council. Facilities will track exemptions as necessary. RNs with ten or more years of experience are exempt from this requirement.
• License: You must hold and maintain a current registered nurse license with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. An Enhanced Nurse License Compact (eNLC) license may be applicable; please verify with the NCBON. A registered nurse license must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
• Certification: BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of nursing experience in a hospital setting is necessary.
