Principal Electrical Engineer - EMI/EMC Lead

Principal Electrical Engineer – A senior technical role responsible for overseeing the design, development, modification, and evaluation of highly complex electrical components and systems. Responsibilities Lead advanced projects and collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to meet project requirements and standards. Design, develop, modify, and evaluate electrical components and systems for performance and efficiency. Conduct tests and simulations to validate performance, and document design processes, test results, and modifications. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for electrical systems and components. Mentor less experienced engineers and technicians, offering guidance and leadership on specialized projects. Act as the technical lead for specialized projects, ensuring successful execution and ownership of tasks. Stay current with advancements in electrical engineering and apply new knowledge to ongoing projects. Participate in team meetings, contribute to project planning, and discuss progress. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience) or Master’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience. 12+ years of related experience in electrical engineering. Mastery in a particular area such as power systems, control systems, EWIS, CD&H, etc. Expert knowledge of relevant industry standards and electrical/avionic system architectures. Expertise in troubleshooting and solving complex problems. Experience mentoring engineers and technicians. Ability to take task ownership and lead teams with minimal supervision. Knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation. Knowledge of systems integration, risk identification, and Verification & Validation principles. Experience performing trade studies to support subsystem architecture decisions. Preferred Qualifications Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance. Experience serving as a Responsible Engineer (RE) throughout a hardware lifecycle. Experience in electrical architecture and design software such as CAPL, AutoCAD Electrical, Altium Designer, or similar. Proficiency in simulation software like SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, Hyperlynx, and similar. Expertise in PCB design and layout. Advanced understanding of power electronics, control systems, microcontrollers, and embedded systems. Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ or Python for embedded systems. Familiarity with CCSDS specifications for spacecraft and ground data flow. Proven project management experience leading large and complex projects. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Benefits & Compensation Pay Range: $164,164.00 - $225,725.50 (base compensation determined on a case‑by‑case basis).
