Department Information
The Woodruff School graduates high caliber mechanical engineers for a demanding profession. Mechanical engineers are the foundation of todays technological world. To do so, we provide enhanced facilities and laboratories to create the best learning environment and we attract outstanding faculty and students. In this period of rapid technological change, the Woodruff School produces mechanical engineers who are vital to our future.

With approximately 3,000 students, 100 faculty members, and 80 staff members, the Woodruff School is one of the largest mechanical engineering programs in the country. We are consistently ranked as one of the top 10 mechanical engineering programs in the U.S. at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and continuously innovate to keep our school at the forefront of engineering education. Job Summary

The Human Resource Coordinator will perform administrative tasks and provide services to support the effective operations of the organization's HR department.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Review and coordinate process of hiring requests from unit management.

Job Duty 2 -
Coordinate activities associated with employee on-boarding and orientation; May assist with recruitment efforts and selection process.

Job Duty 3 -
Respond to inquiries regarding Institute and departmental HR policies and procedures; make referrals when appropriate.

Job Duty 4 -
Review and recommend revision to unit level HR processes as appropriate.

Job Duty 5 -
Maintain employees' record maintenance and transactions including salary, job, termination and other related changes.

Job Duty 6 -
Gather and coordinate dissemination of information regarding new or Title Job Duties/Responsibilities revised HR related policies and procedures within unit.

Job Duty 7 -
Initiate and/or process HR-related documentation (hiring packages, posting requests, schedules and reports, etc.)

Job Duty 8 -
Serve as a unit-level contact for HR-related processes and procedures.

Job Duty 9 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED, or vocational training

Required Experience
1+ years of relevant experience Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, offer preparation, and onboarding.
• Experience producing and maintaining HR reports and workforce data, including employee rosters, anniversary charts, termination reports, and other personnel-related reports. Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and HR information systems, with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Experience in managing visa processes for international hires
• Experience in higher education preferred
