General Manager — Rocky's Pizza Bar (Staten Island, NY)

Location: 7339 Amboy Road, Staten Island, NY Reports to: Ownership / Operations Type: Full-time, on-site Comp: $48,000–$55,000 base + margin bonus (details below)

The short version

We're a diversified holdings company with a large portfolio of restaurants, including Rocky's Pizza Bar in Staten Island. We're looking for a General Manager who runs the place like they own it — someone who can hold the floor on a Friday night, read a P&L on Monday morning, and build a team that doesn't fall apart when they take a day off.

This is not a caretaker job. The person who does this well moves up. As we add locations, we need proven operators to step into multi-unit and corporate operations roles — and we'd rather promote someone who's already shown us they can run a room than hire a stranger. If you're a strong GM who has hit the ceiling at your current shop, this is the seat where you prove you're ready for more.

What you'll own

• The whole restaurant. Front and back of house, open to close. The buck stops with you.
• The numbers. Food cost, labor, and prime cost are your responsibility. You'll work to a target margin band and get paid on hitting it (see comp).
• The team. Hiring, scheduling, training, and holding people accountable. Building a crew that runs well whether or not you're standing there.
• The guest experience. Consistent food, fast service, a room people want to come back to. Handling the problems before they become reviews.
• Ordering and inventory. Vendor relationships, keeping waste down, not running out of what sells.
• The beverage program. Rocky's is a pizza bar — as the beverage side of the business builds out, you'll help shape and run it. Bar and beverage experience is a real plus.
• Day-to-day P&L discipline. Watching the controllable line items and making the small calls that add up.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years running a restaurant as a GM or strong AGM — pizza, Italian, or high-volume casual dining preferred.
• A real operator, not a manager on paper. You've owned a P&L, moved food and labor cost with your own decisions, and can walk us through how.
• Someone who wants to move up. We're being direct about this: we want a player, and we're building a company. If you're looking for a place to coast, this isn't it. If you want a ladder, we have one.
• Steady under pressure. Rushes, short-staffed nights, a walk-in that goes down — you keep the room calm and the line moving.
• Comfortable with the tech. POS, scheduling, and reporting tools. You don't have to be an expert; you have to be willing.
• Available for the hours a restaurant actually needs — nights, weekends, and the shifts that matter. Staten Island local or a reasonable commute.

The growth path (we mean it)

The person in this seat who delivers — clean numbers, a team that runs itself, guests who come back — is first in line for the roles above it as we grow: multi-unit operations, regional, corporate. We'll tell you the specific numbers you need to hit for that conversation to happen, and then we'll actually have it. This is the entry point into the company, not a dead end.

Compensation

• Base salary $48,000–$55,000 , depending on experience.
• Margin bonus. We set your restaurant's cost baseline when you start. As you move prime cost into the target band and hold it there, you earn a share of the margin you create — roughly 25% of the improvement. Run it well and the bonus is the real money.
• Paid time off
• A genuine promotion track, as described above.
