Clinical Specialist, Enabling Technologies - Jonesboro, AR

Position Overview Medtronic is seeking a Clinical Specialist, Enabling Technologies (CST) to provide clinical, technical, and product knowledge support to existing and potential customers. The role is field‑based, requiring travel within the territory and occasional overnight trips. Responsibilities Coordinate, support, and collaborate with NRCs and other Surgical Synergy team members for on‑site installations. Represent Medtronic during technology‑enabled procedures to provide technical assistance. Maintain system hardware and software, install upgrades, and perform preventive maintenance. Provide telephone clinical support and use UNIX/LINUX commands for system file modification. Fulfill software and service contract obligations, acting as the primary Medtronic customer liaison for repair and technical support issues. Report customer concerns, issues, and market opportunities to the district team. File weekly site visit and customer contact reports for service improvement. Educate and train physicians and hospital personnel (OR, Radiology, Central Sterile Processing, Biomedical and Information Technologies) on technical matters related to technology‑enabled procedures. Provide clinical resources for surgeons, clinicians, and other staff being trained. Update customers on tips, shortcuts, and suggestions as appropriate. Participate in in‑house sponsored customer training, including train‑the‑trainer initiatives. Collaborate with NRCs, Spinal Sales, and NS Representatives to identify prospective new users for Navigation and Robotics. Attend sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as directed. Support complex new image‑guided products and applications to physicians and hospital staff. Work with the Surgical Synergy Region Manager and CSM to prioritize customer technical support and service expectations. Provide input on new product development based on in‑field experience. Document new or existing installations and adhere to company policies, conducting all business ethically. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED, plus a minimum of 6 years of clinical, medical sales, or medical imaging/navigation/robotics experience; Associate’s Degree, plus a minimum of 4 years of clinical, medical sales, or medical imaging/navigation/robotics experience; Bachelor’s Degree, plus a minimum of 2 years of clinical, medical sales, or medical imaging/navigation/robotics experience. Preferred Qualifications RT and/or MRI certification. Prior experience with image‑guided systems. Prior experience with MRI operating‑room setting. Additional Job Requirements Adhere to healthcare universal precautions to minimize exposure to infectious disease and radiation. Serve as the primary resource for scheduled and unscheduled clinical events. Work weekends, evenings, and nights; possible overnight travel within or outside the district. Work efficiently and autonomously with little direction outside of clinical events. Attend national and district meetings and other training as requested. Wear a 7–9 lbs protective lead apron for extended periods in the operating room. Lift up to 40 pounds; sit, stand, and walk for 8+ hours per day. Perform frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and balancing. Close, distance, depth vision, and ability to adjust focus for computer operation. Hold a valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance; drive ~25% of time within territory, including overnight travel. Benefits & Compensation Competitively based salary range USD $60,800.00 – $91,200.00 (U.S. markets, excluding Puerto Rico and CA). Eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP).
