Job Opportunity

This position primarily involves working in the Rehabilitation unit, with the flexibility to float to the Medical/Surgical unit as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Support and promote the mission and values of the organization.
• Deliver professional nursing care to patients within the assigned unit and execute orders from the responsible medical provider.
• Provide detailed clinical documentation including care plans each shift.
• Seek constructive feedback regarding nursing practice and take appropriate actions.
• Ensure effective communication of patient information to maintain continuity and safety in care through bedside shift reports, multidisciplinary rounds, and hourly rounding (AIDET).
• Complete all required learning modules within the specified timeframe.
• Foster a culture of well-being by addressing issues such as alarm fatigue.
• Encourage a positive and collaborative atmosphere in the department during each shift.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by adhering to established procedures and protocols.
• Identify and assist in addressing patient care safety issues.
• Work within the guidelines of a Just Culture Environment to promote error reporting and safe practices.
• Address issues through the appropriate channels within the chain of command.
• Participate in daily unit-based safety huddles.
• Stay informed about the organization's overall strategic plan and unit-specific nurse-sensitive indicators (e.g., CAUTI, CLABSI, CDIFF, HAPU, FALLS, HH, VAE).
• Actively engage in quality initiatives and performance improvements to enhance patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with nurses from other departments/units to leverage expertise across clinical areas.
• Seek opportunities to support all team members.
• Set and implement performance goals based on self-assessment and performance feedback.
• Ensure patient education materials are culturally competent.
• Serve as a preceptor for new nurses.
• Participate in readiness for organization surveys.
• Exhibit practices consistent with the tenets of shared governance and the philosophy of the unit and organization.
• Assist in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
• Effectively delegate care responsibilities and unit activities to other nursing personnel.
• Collaborate in planning, supervising, and instructing other nurses and assistants.
• Work alongside nursing students and their instructors.
• Engage in the peer feedback process during annual reviews.
• Participate in employee engagement surveys.
• Demonstrate a commitment to colleagues and foster accountability among peers.
• Avoid unauthorized overtime and manage earned time off (ETO) according to policy.
• Complete a dysrhythmia course prior to the end of orientation, required for all telemetry-based departments.
• Maintain current nursing licensure and certifications as required by the department.
• Perform other duties as consistent with this role.

Job Requirements

• Basic Dysrhythmia knowledge preferred or to be acquired prior to the end of orientation.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or to be obtained prior to the end of orientation.
• Current RN license in New Hampshire is required.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program is preferred.

Additional Information

Up to 16 hours of unpaid orientation may be required. The organization reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts during a 13-week contract period.
