Student Transitions Coordinator The Student Transitions Coordinator supports key student populations within the Curry College community – primarily commuter students, veteran students, and adult learners within the Laboure Center for Healthcare Opportunity. Working out of the Office of Student Transitions and Family Programs, this position enhances student belonging, engagement, and success by developing and leading programs, services, and advocacy efforts tailored to these unique student populations. For the success of all students, the Student Transitions Coordinator will be expected to collaborate and work with many functional areas across the entire College. The target start date for this position is August 1, 2026. This position plays a key role in strengthening the College's commitment to a community of care, supporting student persistence, and cultivating meaningful connections across the commuter, veteran, and adult learner student experience. This position will oversee student commuter ambassador positions to help execute the work of this area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Student Engagement Serve as the primary point of contact and advocate for commuters, veterans and adult learner students; Create and implement programs that build community and enhance the student experience and connection to the larger Curry College community; Manage the Commuter Lounge, ensuring it serves as a welcoming and engaging space for students; Be a key partner in the management of the Curry College Food Pantry and other initiatives related to food insecurity and basic needs support on campus; Coordinate student population‑related communications, events, and leadership opportunities (e.g., commuter ambassadors or advisory boards); Partner with campus departments—incl. Dining Services, Public Safety, Facilities, and Academic Support—to address student needs and improve the on‑campus experience; Liaise with Residence Life & Housing to provide communication and support for students who may wish to enter on‑campus housing, or vice versa; Collect and assess data to measure engagement and satisfaction among commuters, veterans, and adult learner students; Serve as a contact and support for student veterans and military‑connected students and families. Provide individualized outreach and support regarding academic, personal, and transitional needs; Work collaboratively with the Registrar, Financial Aid, Academic Advising, and other offices to ensure smooth navigation of VA benefits, enrollment certification, and academic success; Plan and execute events honoring and celebrating veteran and military‑affiliated students, such as Veterans Day recognition and Military Appreciation programming; Maintain partnerships with local and regional veteran service organizations; In partnership with other areas of the College, serve as a contact and advocate for adult learner students within the Laboure Center ensuring their voices and needs are represented; Design and implement programs and engagement opportunities that recognize adult learners' life experiences, schedules, and goals, while fostering connection to the broader Curry College community. 2. Division and Campus Collaboration Actively contribute to divisional and institutional goals that promote engagement, inclusion, and retention; Participate in Student Affairs initiatives, including Orientation, Family & Homecoming Weekend, Commencement and other signature events; Serve on campus committees related to student success, belonging, and equity; Support assessment and data collection to inform program improvement and student impact. Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree. At least one year of experience (including graduate assistantships) in student programming, advising, or engagement roles. Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and student‑centered practice. Strong communication, organization, and relationship‑building skills. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or a related discipline. Experience supporting commuter, veteran, transfer, and/or adult learner student populations. Familiarity with student development theory and best practices for engagement and retention of non‑traditional students. Salary Range $55,000 to $60,000 annually. The target start date for this position is August 1, 2026.
