Vice President of Finance and Business Affairs

The client is seeking a Vice President of Finance ; Business Affairs to lead financial strategy and business operations that keep the organization solvent, compliant, and positioned for long-term sustainability. This executive role sets and oversees finance and budget strategy across the home office and school sites, serves as a trusted thought partner to executive leadership and the Board, and builds the capacity of the leaders they supervise. The position requires the ability to move between high-level planning and hands-on execution, aligning goals to organizational priorities while coaching teams toward measurable progress. Reporting and oversight responsibilities will include ensuring the organization’s work is properly resourced in support of a 2030 strategic plan. The VP provides direct oversight and support for initiatives related to resource allocation, finance and budget strategy and implementation, procurement, compliance, and asset management. Key responsibilities include overseeing home office finance, business affairs, and school budget strategy; facilitating annual budget development and progress monitoring; acting as a primary liaison to a Board finance committee and representing finance updates at Board meetings; building company-wide understanding of budget guidelines and guidance for applying them; and partnering with talent and development teams to support compliance in leave, benefits, and payroll administration while monitoring revenue. The role also ensures solvency by overseeing checks and balances, regulatory compliance, tax filing, and audit readiness; stays current on relevant finance trends and policy changes; leads contract negotiation for business operations; and oversees accounting and asset management functions such as accounts payable/receivable, coding quality control, internal audits, internal and external reporting review, and budget adjustments.
