Job Title Customs Specialist - Entry Writer Location USA - Erlanger, 4243 Olympic Blvd Division Group Time Type Full Time Summary The purpose of this role is to perform Customs business activities. The Customs Specialist is responsible for transactions with U.S. Customs (CBP) concerning the entry and admissibility of merchandise. This includes conducting effective research, communicating with the client and/or CBP, managing Customs entries, monitoring clearance, and record‑keeping. Duties And Responsibilities Review Customs documents to be filed with CBP ensuring accuracy. Verify classification and valuation with the importer when necessary. Ensure compliance with customs regulations. Obtain the appropriate documents required to support claims or disclaims. Ensure the proper and timely payment of duties, taxes, or other charges assessed by CBP on merchandise. Maintain documents required under 19 CFR 163. Monitor and track customs clearances and resolve any delays or issues. Coordinate with internal teams, clients, customs brokers, and government agencies to resolve customs‑related issues. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date knowledge of customs regulations and procedures. Attend provided trainings. Support the development and implementation of customs compliance procedures and policies. Qualifications Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in Customs brokerage. Preferred Qualifications U.S. Customs Brokerage License. Certification in customs compliance or a related area. Experience working with a variety of industries and commodities. Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of customs regulations, processes, and documentation. Attention to detail and accuracy in customs declarations and record‑keeping. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Experience with ACE Secure Data Portal. Language Skills Fluent in English (oral and written). Computer Literacy Proficient in using customs management software and systems. Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Base compensation will be determined based on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, geographic location and other objective business considerations.
