Quality / Mechanical Inspector – Aerospace Manufacturing | Los Angeles, CA | 1st Shift | Full-Time, Direct Hire | $25 – $40/hr Join a global aerospace & defense manufacturing leader supporting high‑precision, regulated production environments. This role partners directly with machinists and engineering to ensure machined components meet exacting quality and compliance standards. Position Overview Perform mechanical inspection of semi‑finished and finished machined parts to verify compliance with engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer/military specifications. Identify workmanship issues, prevent process defects, and support continuous quality improvement. Key Responsibilities Conduct mechanical inspection & First Article Inspection (FAI) Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T Inspect parts using surface plates, calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, Micro-Hite, precision measuring tools Review drawings, ECNs, and military/customer standards for acceptance or rework Verify manufacturing build/test completion Enter inspection data into ERP systems Communicate defects and systemic trends to Quality Engineering Required Qualifications 1+ years as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment Experience in mechanical inspection, FAI, and Final Inspection Working knowledge of GD&T Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred Experience with AS9100 & AS9102 First Article requirements CMM experience IPC-610 inspection experience ERP experience (Oracle a plus) Benefits & Perks Medical, dental, vision, life & disability insurance effective the first day of the month following hire 15 days PTO (accrual begins day one) + 12 paid holidays 401(k) with company match Education reimbursement after 90 days #J-18808-Ljbffr AYM
