Job Summary

We’re seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Seasonal  Server  to join our service team at Petit Ermitage, hotel known for its warmth, charm, and elevated guest experience. 

The Server is responsible for delivering an exceptional and personalized dining experience through attentive, knowledgeable, and professional service. This role serves as an ambassador of Petit Ermitage, anticipating guest needs, providing expert recommendations on menu offerings, wine, and beverages, and ensuring the highest standards of hospitality are consistently maintained. 

The ideal candidate collaborates closely with culinary and service teams to create memorable guest experiences while upholding service standards, operational procedures, and a refined dining atmosphere. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, product knowledge, and a genuine passion for luxury hospitality and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet and engage guests, providing attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience.
• Maintain assigned tables and service areas, ensuring cleanliness, beverage refills, and prompt service without rushing guests.
• Ensure all food and beverage items are served accurately and presented according to established standards.
• Accurately enter and manage orders using the POS system.
• Anticipate guest needs, remain visible within assigned areas, and respond promptly to service requests.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company standards and responsible alcohol service practices.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and appearance of all restaurant and rooftop areas.
• Process room service and carry out orders accurately, ensuring proper packaging and presentation.
• Follow cash-handling procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Keep service stations stocked and notify management of supply shortages.
• Adhere to all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
• Follow company policies, grooming standards, and attendance expectations.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management to support operational success.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support Food & Beverage operations.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum one year experience as server in a restaurant, bar, or hospitality setting preferred. 
• Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively, diplomatically and professionally with other departments, guests, and vendors in English.
• Positive attitude and willingness to assist others. 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods up to entirety of shift.
• Must regularly lift, carry, push, and, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol.
• California RBS Certification required.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
