Job Description

Department:  Security

Location:  Grand Blanc

Schedule:  Full-Time (40 Hours/Week), Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Shift:  Variable

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Ready to lead a dynamic security team? As a Security Leader, you'll take charge of overseeing our security personnel and keeping our hospital running smoothly and safely. You'll build and manage work rosters, strategically position your team to provide rock-solid security coverage 24/7, and coordinate specialized coverage for special events and critical situations. Each day brings the opportunity to review security reports and incidents, brief your officers on what matters most during roll call, and stay sharp about protecting our Henry Ford Health System facilities, properties, patients, visitors, and employees. It's all about being proactive, staying vigilant, and making sure everyone feels safe and secure.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

• Associate’s degree in security administration, Criminal Justice, or related field and 1- 2 years progressively responsible hospital security experience. 

• OR 

  3 to 5 years of hospital security experience with demonstrated leadership ability, field training responsibilities, acting leadership assignments, or equivalent operational experience. 

• Requires the job knowledge, skills and abilities of an HFH Security Officer/Security Police Officer or the equivalent in work experience and must have currently received a satisfactory or above performance review in all areas. 
• Completion of IAHSS Supervisory and Safety training programs within the first year. 
• Must demonstrate strong management and communications capabilities. 
• Must display excellent customer service skills and behaviors as outlined in the HFH Customer Service Policy. 
• Work requires interpersonal skills that key in on quality customer service initiatives along with the leadership skills necessary to supervise assigned personnel.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: 

• Certification under public act 330 within the first year of performing this role or at the first offered classes in the tri-county area.
