CNC Setup Machinist

We are looking for an experienced CNC Setup Machinist to set up and operate CNC machines, program and modify CNC programs, troubleshoot machining issues, and produce high-quality precision parts.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, load, and operate CNC machines for production.
• Perform complex machine setups and standard/custom fixture setups.
• Write and modify CNC programs using G-code and CAM software.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
• Optimize cutting parameters, tool paths, and machine settings.
• Troubleshoot machine, programming, and quality issues.
• Perform first-article and in-process inspections.
• Use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and replace cutting tools.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards.
• Support process improvements and provide guidance to CNC Operators.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of CNC operation and programming experience.
• Strong knowledge of G-code and CAM software.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
• Experience with standard and custom fixture setups.
• Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Technical certification or associate degree in machining.
• Experience with Mastercam, ESPRIT, or similar CAM software.
• Experience with CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines.
• Experience with fixture design and tooling optimization.
• Lean/Six Sigma training or forklift certification.

1. 5+ years of CNC machining and programming experience
