Design Engineer

National Oilwell Varco (NOV) has an immediate opening at its Dayton, Ohio office for a Design Engineer to support its industrial mixing equipment product lines. The Dayton officer is the design center for NOV’s Chemineer™ rotating mixers and Prochem™ belt driven mixers. The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design and detailing of mixing products with emphasis on customer needs, quality, budget, safety and on-time delivery. RESPONSIBILITIES Interpreting customer supplied drawings to define customer needs Performing calculations to ensure designs are of the highest quality and longest life Creating parts, assemblies and drawings using Solidworks 3D CAD software Creating part numbers and bills of material in Teamcenter product lifecycle management software Working with manufacturing engineers and suppliers to ensure designs are in line with factory capabilities and core competencies Providing engineering support to machinists and assemblers on the shop floor Executing engineering changes to legacy products QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree Experience with the selection and implementation of power transmission components in machine design Proficiency using Solidworks 3D CAD software Familiarity with EPDM Product Data Management software A working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) Experience creating part numbers and bills of material COMPETITIVE BENEFITS (visit usbenefits.nov.com for more information about our benefits offerings) 401(k) Retirement Plan – NOV matches every dollar up to 5% of base pay and overtime for every dollar you invest.
